The Children's Worship Center opened in February of 1994. It is located in room 201, which is on the second floor, back of the sanctuary. The purpose of the worship center is to give our children a place where they can learn of God's love by experiencing the liturgies and traditions of our faith. Children participate in the worship of God on their own level. Visual aids and hands on activities are used to enhance their learning experience. The stories presented in the Children's worship Center are arranged in chronological order so that the children can see the progression of the greatest story ever told. Bible stories from creation through the history of the Old Testament are included in the presentations. Stories from the New Testament depict the birth of the Christ child as well as give an account of the ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. These experiences help the children to begin to feel a part of the church. Material used is designed for ages three through seven.
It is hoped that by attending the Children's Worship Center, our children will become familiar with the reverence and respect they should bring to worship. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about what they are doing and learning in the Children's Worship Center. Parents should also reinforce the positive growth shown by the children as they learn to be reverent and respectful while participating in our worship service.
A children's sermon is included as a part of the worship service each Sunday morning for children of all ages. After the children's sermon, children, ages three through the second grade are escorted to the Children's Worship Center if parents wish them to attend.
Guests are always welcome. The children are returned to the sanctuary at the end of the service and may meet their parents at the front of the sanctuary.
